The SEA project was born from the joint will of two European schools (the Providence Institute of Champion and the Second High School of Kalamaria in Greece) to offer their students the opportunity to express their fears about climate and ecology. Our two classes STEM (Science Technology Engeneering Mathematics) do not pretend to find the solution to this problem unpublished in our history. We simply want to initiate a real change in the immediate environment of our schools and, we hope, change mentalities.
This project will run for two years and is co-financed by Erasmus +.
1) The creation of a submarine robot will engage our students in a process of intergenerational and international collaboration, encourage their investment, cooperation and empowerment.
2) At each meeting in each school, students will follow 4 specific steps: design, implement, test and disseminate the results. It will be an opportunity each time to refocus our actions on the priorities chosen during collaborative work sessions, debates, visits, conferences, etc.
3) Discussions will be organized to maintain a common reflection on the implementation of at least three concrete resolutions in favor of ecology and climate. In addition to cultural exchange and language learning, this process will give them responsibility and commitment as they become part of a democratic decision-making process.
4) This project is also transversal since the messages of communication, research and awareness will be alternately in English or in French. We will encourage each teacher to maintain this movement in their classes, language, EDM, geography, science, etc.
